MinimStreamer is a home hub for network audio streaming and audio stream processing.
MinimStreamer is packaged as an optional extension to MinimServer. You can use MinimStreamer together with MinimServer to do the following:
- Transcode a file from your MinimServer library "on the fly" to a different format for streaming to your music player. For example, you can transcode a FLAC file to a WAV stream.
- Play a network stream such as an internet radio station on a music player that doesn't have native support for playing the stream. MinimStreamer can do this for icecast radio streams and for BBC radio streams in MPEG-DASH or HLS format.
- Transcode a network stream such as an internet radio station. The network stream is transcoded "on the fly" and sent to your music player. For example, you can transcode an AAC/ADTS network stream to a WAV stream.
- Record a network stream, including timed recording. Recording and listening can be started and stopped independently, and you can do both at the same time.
You can use these features individually or in any combination. For details of how to install and use MinimStreamer, follow the links in the left sidebar.
To use MinimStreamer, you need to be running MinimServer 2 (see this page) and you need to have activated a MinimServer 2 full license or trial license. See this page for more information about MinimServer 2 licensing.
